Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Durrell & Clifford and Maxwell Technologies PLC, operating the PharmaCompare platform, collect, use, share, store, and protect information when you use the PharmaCompare patient application, the Pharmacompare Driver application, our website, and related healthcare and delivery services.

1. Scope

This policy applies to PharmaCompare services that let patients find pharmacies and laboratories, order medicines, upload prescriptions, book consultations and laboratory services, make payments, communicate with service providers, and track active deliveries or home sample collections.

It also applies to approved independent drivers using Pharmacompare Driver to receive and accept medication delivery or laboratory sample-collection assignments, navigate to pickup and handover locations, communicate about a job, submit handover proof, and view job history and earnings. Patient-only features described in this policy, such as consultations, health profiles, prescription scanning, and AI chat, are not driver-app features.

Durrell & Clifford and Maxwell Technologies PLC jointly operate PharmaCompare and are responsible for the platform's handling of personal information described in this policy. Privacy requests can be sent to the shared contact details in Section 12.

Pharmacies, doctors, laboratories, insurers, delivery providers, and payment providers may have their own privacy obligations and policies for information they process independently.

2. Information we collect

Account and contact information

Name, email address, telephone number, password credentials in protected form, profile details, delivery addresses, emergency contact information, and account verification records.

Driver registration, assignments, and earnings

For Pharmacompare Driver, we collect the driver's name, email address, telephone number, protected login credentials, profile photo if supplied, vehicle type, vehicle registration plate, driving-license number, and account approval or support records. We also process online/offline availability, accepted assignments, pickup and handover details, job statuses and timestamps, delivery or collection fees, and earnings history. When a driver submits a payout account, we process its account number, account-holder and verification details, approval status, and related payout transaction records to verify the receiving account and administer payouts.

Driver handover proof and communications

We collect package photos submitted as proof of delivery, handover-code submissions and verification outcomes, and assignment notes. Drivers should avoid photographing people, prescriptions, medicine labels, or other sensitive information unnecessarily. Messages, support requests, abuse reports and their review records, and user-blocking choices are processed to coordinate assignments and address safety concerns.

Health and service information

Prescriptions, medicine requests, consultation details, symptoms or notes you submit, appointment records, laboratory requests and results, allergies or health-profile information, insurance details, and files or images you choose to upload. If you use video consultations, this can include date of birth, blood group, allergies, pre-consultation answers, and optional measurements such as temperature, height, weight, and blood pressure. If you opt into treatment tracking, we process your selected reminder times and whether scheduled doses were marked taken or skipped.

Orders, payments, and support

Order history, selected payment method, payment status and transaction references, refunds, support requests, service communications, and messages exchanged through PharmaCompare. Payment providers process payment credentials according to their own services; PharmaCompare receives the information needed to confirm and reconcile transactions.

Location and delivery information

With device permission, we may use precise or approximate location to select an address, show nearby providers, provide directions, and display an active delivery or home collection. Live driver coordinates are displayed only while the related assignment is active and are no longer exposed after it ends.

Background location in Pharmacompare Driver: with the driver's consent and device permissions, the driver app collects and sends precise location coordinates, capture times, and available accuracy information during active deliveries and laboratory collections, including while the screen is locked or the app is in the background. This enables assignment tracking, pickup and handover coordination, navigation, and delivery support. Live location updates stop when the driver's active jobs end or the driver logs out; merely being online without an active assignment does not start live job tracking. Revoking location permission stops further device access but may prevent active-job tracking from working. Previously recorded assignment locations are not automatically erased when live sharing stops; they are subject to the retention practices in Section 7.

Device and technical information

Device and application identifiers, push-notification tokens, IP address, operating system, app version, security events, crash information, and limited diagnostic logs. We seek to minimize medical details and live coordinates in technical logs.

The driver app stores session information, language and other preferences, and limited assignment or pending location data on the device to support sign-in and recovery after connectivity interruptions. Pending location updates are associated with the active assignment rather than used for unrelated tracking.

Website preferences and optional AI features

The marketing website saves your English or French language choice in browser local storage and loads Google Fonts. If you use the in-app AI chat, your name and the message you submit are sent to the configured external AI provider (OpenAI when that service is configured) to generate a reply. If you choose AI-assisted prescription scanning, the prescription image is sent to that provider for interpretation. Do not include information you do not want processed by that service. AI output should be checked against the original prescription and by an appropriate professional.

3. How we use information

  • Create, verify, secure, and support user accounts.
  • Process medicine orders, prescriptions, consultations, laboratory services, and insurance requests.
  • Process and reconcile payments and provide transaction status.
  • Coordinate store pickup, delivery, and home sample collection.
  • Verify driver and receiving-account details, manage assignment availability, and administer driver earnings and payouts.
  • Track active jobs, verify handover codes and package-photo proof, investigate delivery disputes, and review messaging safety reports.
  • Send service, payment, appointment, safety, and support notifications.
  • Provide optional AI chat, prescription interpretation, and medication treatment reminders when used.
  • Prevent duplicate transactions, fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Diagnose technical problems and improve reliability and accessibility.
  • Maintain records and comply with applicable legal, healthcare, accounting, and regulatory duties.

4. How information is shared

We disclose only the information reasonably needed for the relevant service. Recipients may include:

  • Selected pharmacies, doctors, laboratories, insurers, and delivery providers.
  • Payment and mobile-money providers involved in a transaction.
  • Cloud hosting, security, customer-support, email, SMS, WhatsApp, and push-notification providers when those channels are used.
  • Google services used to create requested video consultation meetings.
  • Mapping and routing services when an active map, route, or directions feature is used.
  • An AI service when you use AI chat or AI-assisted prescription scanning, as described above.
  • Authorities or professional advisers when disclosure is legally required or needed to protect safety.

Mapping and routing requests use coordinates where possible and do not intentionally include patient names, telephone numbers, medical details, or order contents. We do not sell personal or health information.

For driver assignments, relevant driver identity and contact information, active-job location, assignment status, and handover information may be shared with the patient, pharmacy, or laboratory involved in that job and with authorized PharmaCompare staff for operations, support, safety, and dispute handling. Drivers receive the patient, pickup, and handover information needed for their assigned service; accepting a job does not grant general access to the patient's health profile or clinical records. Driver receiving-account details are used by authorized finance staff and the payout provider, not published to patients or other drivers.

Driver notifications use Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iPhone, Apple Push Notification service. In-app maps use MapLibre with OpenStreetMap-based map data and PharmaCompare map and routing servers. If a driver chooses external directions or a WhatsApp contact link, Google Maps or WhatsApp receives the information needed for that action under its own privacy practices. MaMoni processes driver payout-account verification and payout requests when those services are used. The driver app does not provide the patient app's AI features or send driver messages and handover photos to an AI service for those patient-only features.

A completed laboratory result is made available to the patient after digital release. It is not automatically shared with the requesting doctor: doctor access to a specific result requires the patient's authorization, which the patient can later revoke. Access already exercised before revocation cannot be undone.

5. Permissions and your choices

You can control location and notification permissions through your device settings. Refusing an optional permission may limit the related feature but does not prevent access to unrelated services. You may update certain profile information, change your language preference, choose which service requests to submit, opt into treatment tracking, and manage doctor access to eligible laboratory results in the app.

Drivers are shown an explanation of active-job background location before the relevant permission requests. They can change location, background-location, notification, and camera or photo-access permissions in device settings. Camera or image access is used for photos the driver chooses to submit, such as package proof or a profile image. Removing a permission can prevent the associated assignment or proof step from completing. Drivers can use available message-reporting and blocking controls or contact support about unwanted contact.

6. Processing outside Cameroon

Some service providers, including providers of AI, video meetings, messages, push notifications, and hosting, may process information outside Cameroon. The information shared depends on the feature you use. Contact us if you need more information about a particular provider or transfer. We handle such transfers subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

7. Data retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain health and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and satisfy applicable legal or regulatory requirements. Retention periods can differ by record type. Information is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer required, where permitted by law.

For drivers, retained records may include completed delivery and collection history, recorded assignment locations, package proof and handover verification, transaction and payout evidence, and records needed to investigate disputes, fraud, or safety reports. These are historical operational records, not permission to continue live location collection after a job ends. Account deletion removes or anonymizes driver profile information as described below; records still required for accounting, disputes, or applicable legal obligations are not necessarily deleted immediately. Contact the privacy address in Section 12 about a particular record.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, session protections, and restricted service credentials. Clinical attachments are intended to be accessible only through service- or user-authorized requests; product images are public. No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Account deletion and privacy requests

In Pharmacompare Driver, open Settings > Delete Account and confirm with your current password. If active assignments or unresolved payouts prevent in-app deletion, contact support to arrange reassignment or payout resolution and assistance with your deletion request. You can also request driver account deletion through the web page or email below without signing in to the app.

Driver account deletion revokes login access and sessions, removes or anonymizes profile and contact details, vehicle and license information, saved receiving-account details, and the latest stored driver position, and deletes device notification tokens. Messages sent by that driver are replaced with a deletion marker. Historical assignment, handover, payout, and necessary audit or safety records may remain for the purposes described in Section 7. Deletion does not erase records held independently by a payment or other service provider.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to identity verification and any records we must retain. To request account deletion, follow the steps on our Account Deletion page or email support@pharmacompare.cm with the subject PharmaCompare account deletion request. Include the email address or telephone number associated with the account, but do not send passwords, payment PINs, or medical records.

You may also ask about access to, correction of, or other rights concerning your information under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and may retain records where legally required or necessary for healthcare, transactions, safety, or dispute resolution. If a provider holds information independently, we may direct you to that provider.

10. Children's privacy

PharmaCompare is not directed to children. A parent or legal guardian should manage services requested for a minor where applicable. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact us so we can review the account and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here, update its effective date, and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
